My photography is the culmination of a lifetime of being fascinated by 'the arts' and people. One of my favourite things to do is visit art galleries all over the globe, I have loved art passionately all my life and am so blessed to be able to outwork my natural gifting in creating artpieces everyday for a living. A christian and deeply spiritual person I like nothing better than to capture the real spirit of a person, your uniqueness and your individuality.

On a recent trip to Tanzania in Africa, I visited New Life Foundation, christian orphange, kindergarten, primary and secondary school. You can view some of these images on my 'Angela's africian adventure webpage.

I was amazed to learn that the teachers go without pay for up to six months in preference to feeding the children before themselves!  Now that is love, and God's love for mankind.

Many people in New Zealand today have varing views on our Creator, and I am interested in all views and people's search for truth.  In this school I have talked about I saw the love outworked in denying oneself to benefit others and I have to say, Jesus walk on earth was our example.

Life and relationships are not easy, families are not forever nowadays, so photographing and capturing today has never been so important.

I recently photographed a lovely early 20's girl who died a month after the shoot, I had no idea at the time she was terminally ill.  My photographs of her were displayed proudly at the funeral and her father wrote to me and said I captured her like no other could have.  And it was true, the pictures were equisite quality that spiritually you could see HER.

This is my gift, this is my story, this is why people employ me today after eleven years, I am still producing quality, fashioned edged and beautifully styled.

As a single working parent, I have worked the long hours to build up a small business and I appreciate the support from all my clients around New Zealand.

A visit to my studio and home reveals the true  art pieces. Families, babies, children, couples, weddings, extended families; all have been captured exquisitely and expressively.

“I always feel incredibly humbled to see my photographs taking pride of place in my clients’ homes. You put the things on your walls that you love and cherish. And nothing is more loved and cherished than your family.” Angela Scott

Shamima came to photography via a circuitous but colourful route.  Working with and learning from Angela Scott was the culmination of a quest for professional inspiration.  That journey has included working in high-fashion, experience in media and PR, management, childrens entertainment and child care.

Today, Shamima has found a place and a profession in which she can bring all her finely tuned skills together for a rich and satisfying result, where every day is different and things are fun, a little crazy and highly productive all at the same time.

Shamima's photographic portraiture expresses her fascination with the frail and beautiful nature of the human condition, and her wedding work expresses her high fashion passion to perfect fashion styled couple images to impress.

Like her mentor, she views every creation as a celebration of time and life, an investment in history, and one of the most valuable and enduring possessions any home can hold.

Graphic Designer and Assistant.

I have always been immersed in the creative industries. I danced for 10 years and have worked in fashion and publicity, music, advertising and media, radio and styling and graduated from a music degree and Graphic Design. Alongside these interests, I have always had a huge passion for photography.

The hardest decision growing up was which creative industry to choose! So I decided to try and do it all in some form. I'm a huge lover of people and their unique intricacies, and have an indepth interest for sociology, psychology and human behaviour. I adore children and have been a nanny for over 10 years.

Working at Angela Scott Photographers for me, allows me to utilise my love for design and photography as Angela's Graphic Designer, whilst at the same time allows me to engage with children as one of Angela's assistants, acting out the role of the clown to make the children smile and laugh. There's been the odd toy that's come out for adults even.

I have the ultimate respect for Angela and her special gifts of both her immense technical & creative skills as a photographer, to capture the true essence of people, and the ability to make every single person who walks into the studio feel special and appreciated. Her work is incredibly beautiful and heartfelt & her fun, positive, warm nature makes her a pleasure to work for. I feel very blessed!
