When my name was called and I was announced Miss Universe New Zealand I was completely overwhelmed.

To be able to represent my beautiful country, New Zealand at Miss Universe held in Brazil at the worlds largest and most prestigious pageant,  truly means the world to me and to have the opportunity to wear a specifically designed national costume that depicts my Maori, European and Pacific Islander culture means that my people, all New Zealanders can share in this excitement with me also.

Though the year ahead me is unknown, what I do know for sure is that I will make the most out of every opportunity that comes my way and to carry out my reign with pride, dignity and no regrets.

I hope to encourage younger women to value and appreciate themselves and aspire to wholeness and positive attitudes towards their bodies.
