How does it all work?

 

Hi, I'm Angela Scott Photographer. Welcome to two decades of professionalism at my Studio.

I am a passionate family photographer, dedicated to delivering you absolutely beautiful art-pieces that your family will cherish forever.

​

To create a bespoke experience for your family, I meet with just a select number of clients each week. This means I can put the time into discussing your ideas and expectations before your session, to make sure I can create the best family photographs for you.

​

Book your photography session

Having a look through the website and my social pages of Facebook and Instagram to give you inspiration! Awesome inspiration on our blogs too, can excite you on styling something that is all about you..

​

I offer pre-styling sessions without cost. I would love to meet with you to discuss styling a session that is all about what you are thinking, and come up with additional ideas that are creative. Alternatively we can chat over the phone if you prefer.

​

Our Session Fees are below:

​

• $100 Studio 

• $250 On-Location Session

• $100 Viewing Session

• add $100 for a Saturday and $200 for a Sunday.

 

This covers the photography time and skill, use of equipment, studio props and backdrops, assistants skill and time, editing images to key pictures. The Viewing Session is then designed for you to carefully select the best that you need and desire for your wall.. are a great way to buy, however they are not always the best in the long run, as often customers often do not get around to printing them and never get them up on their walls.

Before booking, please make sure to speak to your partner, and people involved, about a suitable time and date that works, keep in mind when your small children are at their best, eg. choose a time of day that fits within sleeps etc.. generally mornings.

Booking with a Giftcard 

If you have a giftcard, been given one from a family member, or won one, then well done!

 

Please note that these are discounts on purchases generally, unless paid for, they are a good way of “getting around” to doing what is offered, and a good discount to get your foot in the door.. The Studio operates on customers appreciating their craft and buying additionally at their desired budget. Presently we have no minimum spend unless it’s stated on the giftcard..

If you have had a giftcard purchased for you, then please advise me, as these ones are non – obligation to spend additionally.

Preparation

A successful portrait session comes down to preparation. Make some time to research the type of shots you love – send me some inspiration of photos you like from my website. If you can’t make it to my Grey Lynn Studio for a pre-session design consultation, then sending a photograph of yourselves/ family, assists me in styling and planning what would be the finished piece you need.

​

Another handy tip is to take a photo of the wall space where you think your portrait might hang. This can help with the layout of your photos, which we discuss further at your design consultation, also I can show you your key artpiece or series on that wall with the image you took.. Take a look at the stunning finishing of our work in customers homes and in our studio.

Photoshoot Session

​

On the day, this is the exciting part! Sessions vary in length, and at the studio I try to allow time to fit a viewing session in. This can assist you with your week while you are here to then view and decide on what you are after.

​

• Most Sessions are up to an hour – where you are fresh enough to enjoy the time and kids can manage this time.. I keep things ever-changing so that no one gets bored, and it’s also interesting engaging in watching how I operate, that can be very good for your own photographing of your families and also learn some assisting or lighting tricks..

• Newborn sessions vary on the package purchased, however allow 1.5 hour to to 2.5 hours, larger creation of images can be 3 - 4.5 hours depending on settling time
   

At the end of the shoot session itself, if we have time, we will then view the results of the session, and you can make your decision. If you prefer to arrange a separate time, please do so within two weeks of the shoot itself.

Viewing and Purchasing Session

​

After your session at the studio, we often have time for the selection process, which is done on our digital screen. If you prefer to come back on another occasion, or if the studio doesn’t have time to do this session due to a busy weekend or another customer arrival, then you are welcome to book another appointment time within two weeks of the shoot itself.

​

Your order must be placed at this time, so please invite any family members who may like to see the images before you make your selection. To ensure your full attention, I recommend leaving your little ones with family, a babysitter or my assistant will happily entertain them so you can concentrate. Please let me know if you are requiring child/baby minding if you are booking outside of normal studio hours, or an after hour appointment time. It’s imperative that anyone involved in the decision-making attends this appointment. If for any reason someone can’t attend, I ask that you kindly reschedule. Please note that all appointments require 48 hours’ notice to reschedule.

You are welcome to photograph key areas of your home that you were thinking of hanging our art, and I can add these to the viewing program so that I can show you the art on the wall you have chosen.

​

• Wall Images retouched and printed

• Frames are priced depending on moulding and style. 

• Framed wall collections range between $1000 - $3000

• Artpaper is a heavy grade of water colour paper, often the studio frames these, add $100 for smaller pieces, or $200 for larger pieces additionally.

• Digital files are popular

• Albums are a great option for older family members, want additional images presented beautifully for longevity, or if you’re not a person who hangs photographs on your walls. I use the quality of Queensberry to finish our art.

• Print Boxes, printed matted images within a box of glass or cardboard, a lovely desk keepsake and you can buy an easel to display these images and rotate them.
   

The studio offers eftpos and all credit card facilities including Amex. I accept online banking, cheque or cash. I  offer Afterpay, this is 4 payments spread over 2 months, and you can pick up your product prior to full payment. GemVisa is interest free up to 6 months, with a minimum spend of $250. You can obtain a GemVisa card before your session, allow 10 working days for approval and a card to be sent to you, please apply online here. Please let me know prior to your session if you can’t make one of these payment options.

Fees and Payment

​

Your session fee of Studio or Location Session and Viewing must be paid at the time of your booking. This secures your appointment and prevents me from making any other bookings for this time. For this reason, in the event that the client cancels their appointment for any reason, all money paid shall be retained by the photographer in order to offset the loss of business. However, I will shift the booking at no charge to another time if there are issues of sickness, or travel, or genuine reasons everyone can’t attend.

​

No person under the age of 18 years may purchase goods. I look forward to seeing you again when you’re over 18.

 

These terms and conditions regulate the business relationship between you and the studio. By using these services in any way, or by buying from the studio, you agree to be bound by them.

​

Rescheduling

​

When you book and confirm an appointment, I set aside precious studio time and assistant resources for your photography session and viewing consultation. I ask that you therefore do me the courtesy of providing at least 48 hours’ notice of any cancellation or postponement, not only for my benefit but also so other clients’ appointments don’t get disrupted. I understand that rescheduling can be required due to illness or unexpected events, but do ask for your cooperation and understanding in upholding this policy so all our clients can benefit from the same level of service and customer focused attention I pride myself in providing.

​

Please be advised that failure to provide adequate notice of a cancellation or multiple rescheduling will result in the forfeiture of your session fees, and another session fee payment will be required to hold your new date. If you hold a gift card and fail to provide 48 hours’ notice of cancellation or postponement, standard session fees will be deducted from the value of the gift card.

Delivery of your order

​​

• If your order is Digital Files Retouched, then allow 2 weeks.

• If you have ordered printed images, these are retouched, so allow 2-3 weeks.

• If you have ordered framed images, these are retouched and printed and then beautifully and skilfully custom finished by our talented framers, please allow 5 weeks.

• If you have ordered albums, these images are retouched, and the album is individually crafted specifically for your order, so allow 6-8 weeks.
   

For over 20 years these products have always exceeded my clients’ expectations, and I touch base via email/phone/text for pick up, however most of the orders are couriered at the Studio cost.

FAQS

What if my children/ New Baby doesn’t co-operate?

​

Please don’t be concerned if your new baby doesn’t sleep or if they do a wee or a poo, I am used to many situations and it’s all part of the experience. No need to be embarrassed. Toddlers are busy so I don’t really pose every shot, they can run around and I just get what I can. I have 2 decades of experience so just leave it to me! I have a variety of tricks up my sleeve. I have had my own child, now 21 years old,  so I know all the stages.

How will I feel being Photographed?

​

It’s quite normal to feel nervous at the start of a session and a bit self-conscious too. The atmosphere will be chatty and casual and I will assist you by telling you what poses to do, and praise is always forthcoming. The images are more about connection and more about celebrating who you have made yourself to be and I create a bit of fun to relax you too. I also appreciate your time in clothing selection, doing your hair and makeup, and getting the family ready, it sure is a lot of work and so I do appreciate you all.

Am I able to get professional styling at your studio?

​

Yes! If you would like us to schedule a makeup and hairstylist this must be paid at the time of booking and is also non-refundable as all the makeup artists reserve this time for you.
